Christine Breck, CFA | Managing Partner

Christine has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry. In 2000, she joined Source Trading, a broker/dealer that served institutional investors including hedge funds, state agencies, mutual funds, and family offices. In addition to business development for the trading business, Christine raised over $1 billion in assets for a select few of the firm’s hedge fund clients.

Prior to joining Source, Christine was a Relationship Manager group head for five years at the Bank of New York. While in New York, she ran the Endowment and Foundation Group, and then in London she was responsible for the insurance industry team. Previously, she held positions in commercial finance at Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken and the Bank of Darien.

In 2008, she founded Texas Wall Street Women, a not-for-profit networking and philanthropic group for women in the financial industry in Texas (www.txwsw.com). The organization has over 1,700 members across the state and hosts events in Dallas, Austin, and Houston each month using an all-volunteer staff. On the philanthropy side, the organization supports the college readiness programs at the schools founded by the Young Women's Preparatory Network across Texas through both financial contributions and volunteerism.

Christine received a BA in French from Connecticut College and is a CFA charterholder. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher. Christine holds the following FINRA licenses: 7, 24, 55, 63 & 79. She served for 2 years as the co-chairman of the Trader/Portfolio Manager Peer Advisory Committee for 100 Women in Hedge Funds in New York and started the Texas Chapter of 100 WHF. She is an avid golfer and lives in Austin, TX.

James H. Elkus, CFA | Managing Partner

James has been developing, investing in, and raising capital for various alternative asset classes over the past 19 years. While his experience includes venture capital, private equity and hedge funds, the majority of his career has been focused on real estate value creation of the following asset types: large-scale mixed-use, specialty retail, outlet retail, multifamily, condo conversion, hotel, office & lab, and land.

For six years up to 2013, James lived in Dallas and served as a consultant to developers, land owners, real estate opportunity and income funds, as well as a dedicated hotel fund. Prior to moving to Dallas, James was a development executive and ran the Boston area development activities for Capital Properties, specifically on new multifamily developments, as well as the conversion of use, repositioning, and disposition of existing commercial assets.

During and following business school, he gained venture capital raising and senior level management experience as Senior Director of Finance & Operations with Avero Inc., a hospitality focused, venture-backed, start-up technology company.

James began his real estate career with The Related Companies in NYC as the Assistant Project Manager on one of the most high profile large-scale mixed-use projects in the nation, CityPlace in West Palm Beach, FL, and later, to a more limited extent, the Time Warner Center in NYC. Following college, he was with Barclays Bank PLC in investment banking.

James holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School and received a BA in Political Science from Colgate University. He is a CFA charterholder and holds FINRA Series 63 & 79 licenses. James serves as an alumni admissions representative of Phillips Academy (Andover) as well as Columbia Business School. He is a lifelong skier, fly fisherman, and golfer. He lives in Fairfield, CT with his wife and two sons.
